Cortez Colorado

Mesa Verde National Park has so many tours, sightseeing locations, and educational opportunities it is impossible to do everything in one day. Structured tours are only available at certain cliff dwellings throughout the day. The rest of the park is self-guided and it is easy to miss some of the best views and interesting cliff dwellings and the history of each. Join our park experts for a comprehensive tour guaranteed to hit all the highlights in the park.

Mountain Biking at Phil’s World

Phil’s World is a premier mountain biking trail system just outside of Cortez. As one of the highest rated rides in Colorado, the 60 miles of trail will be sure to please both beginner and expert bike enthusiasts.

There are two excellent vineyards around Cortez that are worth visiting. Sutcliffe Vineyards and Guy Drew Vineyards both have tasting rooms and welcome guests year-round. Check their websites for more info.

Canyon of the Ancients

Designated a National Monument in 2000, Canyon of the Ancients is a relatively undeveloped archaeological area with over 6,000 identified sites to visit. The roads in and around the Monument can be rough, high clearance is recommended for many of the access areas.
