Durango Rafting Trips

The Animas River begins its journey high in the San Juans above Silverton. One of Colorado’s last free flowing rivers, it cuts through the Weminuche Wilderness Area where you will find the Upper Animas, a high adventure Class IV-V whitewater stretch surrounded by towering mountain peaks. The river flows into the Animas Valley north of Durango and makes its way through town.

Durango’s oldest and highest rated outfitter is Mountain Waters Rafting. They offer high adventure trips on the Upper Animas and beginner to intermediate family friendly trips through Durango on the Animas River. A trip tot he Four Corners is not complete without a whitewater adventure or trip on the river through Durango!

Inflatable Kayaks

Class II-III : Beginner – Intermediate

In mid to late Summer the Animas River slows down and the rapids become smaller. This is the time for inflatable kayaks! No experience is necessary to take a IK on a guided trip through town.
